Hospital Welcomes New Class of Internal Medicine Residents on Match Day

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital celebrated Match Day today, welcoming 12 new physicians to its Internal Medicine Residency Program. Match Day is a nationwide event when graduating medical students learn where they will complete their residency training. Incoming residents appeared on a large video screen, calling in from around the world. Several current hospital residents gathered to welcome them virtually. This Match Day was a themed celebration, complete with a “Golden Ticket” motif. There were more than 3,000 applicants but only 12 received the “Golden Ticket” to join the team. The new residents begin in July and will train at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital for three years. The hospital started the medical residency training program in 2023 with the goal to increase the number of internal medicine physicians for the growing community.
