Rise Above Performing Arts (Rise Above), a local nonprofit that provides performing arts access to all children—often at no cost to the families—is hosting a major fundraiser to support both its programs and an upcoming relocation.

Rise Above is currently situated at 3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, in the same plaza as Cinebistro. This summer, the organization will move to a new, 7,000-square-foot space on the opposite end of the plaza, next to Connors Steak & Seafood, with renovations slated to begin in June.

The fundraising efforts kicked off with The 2026 Giving Challenge, where The Patterson Foundation provided a dollar-for-dollar match for every unique donation between $25 and $100, with no limit on the number of matched gifts.

To keep the momentum going following the Challenge, Rise Above is hosting “Celebration,” an exciting evening of music on May 2. Guests will enjoy three hours of live entertainment and dancing with LITT, a high-energy local band. LITT has a special connection to the organization, as one of the lead singers, Michael, is the husband of Rise Above’s choreographer, Toni Dentico.

“Rise Above has always been about bringing people together through the power of live performance,” says Toni Dentico. “As we prepare to move into our new location, this fundraiser helps ensure that the music, stories and creativity continue for years to come. We’re excited to celebrate with our community while building the next chapter of our theater’s future.”

Admission to the event is $25, with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting Rise Above. Attendees can also purchase beverages (including beer, wine, soda and water) and buy raffle tickets for a chance to win one of three cash prizes totaling $1,750. Get your tickets at tix.com/ticket-sales/riseabove/5290/event/1464608.

Join the celebration for a fun night out and help make a lasting impact in the community.
