Children and grandchildren of colleagues at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital got a chance to go to work with their parents on Thursday, April 23 as part of National Take Your Child to Work Day. The goal is to expose children to different careers and help them experience what their parents do. Many children said they are interested in careers in nursing or working in the operating room. Children got hands on lessons from emergency room nurses and the surgical services and rehabilitation departments. They also toured the hospital lab, radiology department, hyperbaric oxygen therapy room, and Cath lab. More than 40 children of colleagues in first through 12th grade participated in the event the hospital hosts each year.
