Three Graduate from Law Enforcement Academy

On May 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., three Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Recruits graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Class 180 at the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy. This marks a significant milestone for Deputy Recruits Steven Petty, Colin Doyle, and Christopher Trudnak who have completed a rigorous training program designed to equip them with essential skills for their careers in law enforcement.The graduates have demonstrated exceptional commitment by achieving passing scores on all written end-of-course examinations and by proving their proficiency in critical areas such as DUI Traffic Stops and high liability courses. These courses include Vehicle Operations, First Aid, Firearms, and Defensive Tactics, in addition to their participation in the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission Fitness Program.
