Sarasota Memorial Launches Clinical Trial to Improve Prenatal Screening for Expecting Families

Business

Sarasota Memorial’s Kolschowsky Research and Education Institute is enrolling local patients in the international ADVANCE study, which aims to improve prenatal screening through a single maternal blood test that screens both mother and baby for a range of genetic conditions. Led locally by Larry Matsumoto, MD, an OB-GYN with SMH’s First Physicians Group, the study is designed to provide families with earlier, more accurate information during pregnancy. For more information or to find out if you are eligible to participate in the local study, contact the research team at (941) 917-2225 or researchinstitute@smh.com.
