Sarasota is known for its wealth and world-class arts and cultural institutions. But beyond the galleries and stages, many men and women in our community have experienced homelessness and often remain unseen and unheard. A new documentary from Second Heart Homes invites viewers to listen. After premiering at the Sarasota Film Festival, “The Healing Mirror” is now available to watch free online. The film follows residents of Second Heart Homes as they participate in immersive poetry workshops led by Sarasota poet Cedric Hameed. Filmed at the Sarasota Art Museum, it offers an intimate look at healing, vulnerability and transformation through creative expression.
