Fab Lab Unlocks Barancik Foundation Match, Expands Free STEM Program for Local Classrooms

RocketKids Article

The Suncoast Science Center/Faulhaber Fab Lab has successfully met a fundraising challenge from Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, unlocking a full $450,000 grant to support a three-year expansion of its Science Lending Library: a program that provides free, hands-on STEM kits to local classrooms and homeschool families. For many teachers, access to high-quality science materials is limited by cost, storage, and time. The Science Lending Library removes these barriers by delivering engaging, ready-to-use kits–complete with supplies, lesson plans, and equipment–directly into classrooms, equipping students with the tools they need to explore, build, and learn by doing. This milestone advances the Fab Lab’s “Fab Futures: From Learners to Leaders” initiative, expanding access to standards-aligned, experiential learning opportunities for thousands of students.
