State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), meets students where they are through student-centered education, service and support. SCF’s faculty and staff provide personalized academic and career guidance in small online and on-campus classes, with opportunities for hands-on training, networking and skill building. SCF offers many resources for student success, including tutoring, mentoring, college success coaching, career advising, libraries, disability services, veteran services, mental health counseling and personal resources. As a mom and student, Samoney Chisolm is pursuing her second SCF degree – an Associate in Science degree in the physical therapist assistant (PTA) program – toward her goal of owning a wellness care center. Thriving in academics, student life leadership, the PTA club and the TRIO Student Support Services program, she shared, “I like how SCF is here for us educationally and personally.” From the classroom to career preparation, SCF helps students like Chisolm build confidence, discover opportunities and prepare for what’s next.
