SCF Launches New Associate in Science Degree in Cybersecurity Operations

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is launching a new Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Cybersecurity Operations beginning Fall of 2026, preparing students for careers in one of the nation’s fastest-growing and most in-demand fields. The Cybersecurity Operations A.S. degree prepares students for careers in cybersecurity, digital defense and threat analysis through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences. Students can complete the program in approximately two years and may choose to continue their education through bachelor’s degree pathways or pursue industry-recognized certifications, including CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ and Cisco CCNA. Graduates will be equipped with the technical skills needed to enter a rapidly growing and evolving field. The curriculum combines technical knowledge with applied learning opportunities in cybersecurity operations, digital forensics, incident response and network defense. Students will develop the skills needed to monitor, detect and respond to security threats while gaining experience with the tools and technologies used by cybersecurity professionals.
