Senior Friendship Centers equipped older adults and caregivers across Southwest Florida to prepare for hurricane season through a series of disaster preparedness events offering shelf-stable meals, emergency supplies, local resources, and one-on-one guidance. The events were held in Venice, Arcadia, Port Charlotte, and Sarasota, with support from community partners including Florida Power & Light, the Notre Dame Alumni Association, and the Salah Foundation. Select locations provided shelf-stable meals and preparedness items, such as flashlights, ponchos, radios, and other emergency kit basics, while supplies lasted.
