Senior Friendship Centers equipped older adults and caregivers across Southwest Florida to prepare for hurricane season through a series of disaster preparedness events offering shelf-stable meals, emergency supplies, local resources, and one-on-one guidance. The events were held in Venice, Arcadia, Port Charlotte, and Sarasota, with support from community partners including Florida Power & Light, the Notre Dame Alumni Association, and the Salah Foundation. Select locations provided shelf-stable meals and preparedness items, such as flashlights, ponchos, radios, and other emergency kit basics, while supplies lasted. For more information about Senior Friendship Centers programs and upcoming events, call (941) 955-2122 or visit www.friendshipcenters.org
