The Sarasota Ballet opens its 2026–2027 Season with a program that looks both forward and back as the Company celebrates 20 years under the direction of Iain Webb. Gemma Bond’s Manner makes its Company premiere, exploring the tension between learned behavior and instinct through choreography that gradually allows composure to give way. A collection of Divertissements by Sir Frederick Ashton showcases the wit, musicality, and remarkable range of the choreographer whose work has become central to The Sarasota Ballet’s identity. Closing the program is Dominic Walsh’s Wolfgang for Webb, the first ballet commissioned by Webb for the Company. Set to the music of Mozart, the work’s blend of classical technique, contemporary movement, elegance, and humor provides a fitting return to a ballet that marked the beginning of a new artistic chapter for The Sarasota Ballet.
