HCA Florida Healthcare helped Southwest Florida residents gain lifesaving skills this August through free Stop the Bleed® and Hands-Only CPR training sessions held in Bradenton, Venice and Fort Myers.This education initiative was brought to the community by HCA Florida Blake Hospital, HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital and HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital and their network of HCA Florida ER facilities. Participants received hands-on instruction from specially trained emergency care professionals. During the Stop the Bleed® portion of the training, participants learned how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, apply direct pressure, pack a wound and take action until emergency medical personnel arrive. Participants in Fort Myers and Venice also practiced the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR, which can help save the life of someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. For more information about services, visit HCAFloridaHealthcare.com.
