The organizers of the Harvey Milk Festival will hold a special candlelight vigil for victims of the mass shooting at Pulse, an Orlando gay club. The vigil will be tonight at Five Points Park, according to Shakira Refos.

The crime is reportedly the most deadly mass shooting event in U.S. History and was labeled “an act of terror and an act or hate” by President Barack Obama. Alleged shooter Omar Mateen, a Fort Pierce man, was killed at the scene. Police say at least 49 others died as well, and at least 53 others were injured. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, said the gay community was clearly targeted. The shooter, police say, contacted police beforehand and expressed allegiance to the Islamic State.

Among the first people confirmed dead was Eddie Sotomayor, Jr., a 34-year-old from Sarasota. He was brand manager for ALandCHUCK.travel and was known in town as “Top Hat Eddie.”
