Tuesday Dining and Food Edition

"We really wanted to Florida-ize the menu and make it fresh and summery with a lot of citrus and bright flavors."
Nineteen stories above Sarasota, The Roof Bar and Eats offers stunning panoramic views of Sarasota. With its newly-updated menu, the food and cocktails at The Westin’s rooftop eatery are just as dazzling as the scenery.
“The food side of the menu has been totally revamped, while the cocktail side has undergone more of a refresh,” explains Ryan Ward, executive chef at The Westin Sarasota. “We really wanted to Florida-ize the menu and make it fresh and summery with a lot of citrus and bright flavors.”
One menu item that has been an instant hit is the ahi tuna nachos. Crispy wonton chips made in-house are topped with shaved radish, bean sprouts, avocado, wasabi mayonnaise and sweet soy sauce. This colorful appetizer is light, flavorful and refreshing, and perfect for noshing by the pool.
The Roof is also offering elevated evening bites after 6pm for those looking for a dinner experience. Try the rich Wagyu sirloin accompanied by housemade French fries dusted with rosemary garlic salt, or New Zealand lamb lollipops with a sweet and savory Amarena cherry syrup and blistered tomatoes.
And of course, cocktails are of paramount importance at any rooftop bar. At The Roof, the cocktails are made with premium ingredients like their famed rooftop margaritas, which are crafted with real lime juice and organic agave nectar. Many cocktails like the newly added Siesta Sunset are made with local spirits. Come sip on a cocktail poolside during the afternoon, or stop by in the evening for one of their themed nights. Monday nights are Industry Nights, where hospitality industries enjoy 20% off their drinks from 6pm-11pm. The Roof will also be launching a new weekly Happy Hour soon, so keep an eye on their social media pages for more details.

Lakewood Ranch once again holds the top spot as the nation’s best-selling multigenerational community. In its latest mid-year report, RCLCO, the nation's leading real estate advisory firm, which has tracked master-planned community sales since 1994, recognizes Lakewood Ranch for its resilience and sustained demand. With 1,185 new home sales through June, the community saw only a modest 4% dip year-over-year—far outperforming the nearly 7% average decline among the broader new home market and the nation’s top 50 master-planned communities. Homebuyers continue to express confidence in the stability and long-term value of Lakewood Ranch, a community developed over the past 31 years under the stewardship of a family that has owned the land for more than a century. This enduring commitment has delivered thoughtful development, consistent quality, and meticulous design at every stage of the community’s evolution.
