To Sara Kostelnik, if life feels scattered or cluttered, the solution begins at home.
After working for years in corporate health care and craving a more creative outlet, Kostelnik decided to pursue interior design and founded Jade Scott Design in 2017. During COVID, she began studying Feng Shui, which changed her impression of not just design, but how people experience it.
“I started doing more design focused on Feng Shui, which takes personal goals and maps them out inside a home,” Kostelnik says, while also utilizing the five elements of interior design in her work—space, line, form, color and texture. “Interior designers quite naturally and intuitively work with those elements.”
Kostelnik’s process of working with clients involves meeting them where they presently are in their lives. She says most of her clients are not first-time home buyers and are now working to recreate their home environment, especially if they’re empty-nesting.
“My philosophy of this mind-body-home alignment goes beyond decorating and renovating,” she says. “It’s more about using color, texture and materials in a way that supports people’s personalities, floor plans and what already exists in the home.”
All of Jade Scott Design’s services are virtual, and Kostelnik does meet with clients one-on-one. She serves clients in the Sarasota and Tampa regions.

Her business also features a virtual agent called TASKED that is focused on branding, marketing and content creation, along with a soft focus on visibility about coming back into alignment with what feels true and safe.
“Mind-body-home starts at home, and then it carries into work,” Kostelnik says.
As Kostelnik continues to see more conversations around the combination of home and design with wellness, she is currently adding a seasonal alignment practice that takes the brainwork of mind-body-home and expands it into an everyday routine.
“Seasonal alignment practice is really becoming my community, and I’m finding women really want to create not only alignment at home, but also in their businesses,” she says.

New nonstop flights don’t automatically create new visitors. Build it and they will not come; but promote it, now that’s a different story. BayCare has named Brendan Malik, MD, vice president of Physician Enterprise Development and chief medical officer, a newly established role that will help provide leadership and strategic alignment for BayCare physician development and integration, service line development, BayCare Urgent Care medical direction and the Ambulatory Quality Assurance Program. In this new role, Dr. Malik will focus on strengthening physician alignment, supporting BayCare’s continued ambulatory growth and expanding access to care across the communities BayCare serves. He will report jointly to Todd Jones, chief strategy officer and chief ambulatory services officer, and Dr. Sowmya Viswanathan, chief physician executive.

Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner announced today the opening of a new customer service office in North Port. The new office located at 14277 S Tamiami Trail in the North Port Village shopping center is replacing the elections office’s current location at Biscayne Plaza in North Port. The new office opens Friday, September 18. The new location is conveniently located off Tamiami Trail, has abundant parking, and with a footprint of 5,400 square feet, has more than double the space of the Biscayne Plaza location.
