Sift Bakehouse, 1383 Mcansh Square, Sarasota, 941-306-6072

Christine Nordstrom is the fun and fearless proprietor of Sift Bakehouse, purveyor of delicious gourmet made-from-scratch treats that before now were available only at select Farmers Markets and choice special events such as the recent Sarasota Film Festival.  As of April 28 (that’s next week!), Sift Bakehouse is downtown Sarasota’s newest bakery around the corner – this particular corner being Pineapple Avenue and McAnsh Square. I was lucky enough to attend the preview opening and delighted in watching (and tasting) the first batch of cookies baked and then served in this location. The bakery is a charming space filled with whimsical touches such the large wall frame of cookie cutters and Christine is proud to have partnered with some of the friends she has made at various markets and events and she will be selling select local products as well as her own delectable confections.
