I love the sandwiches at Mozzarella Fella—crusty bread, fresh ingredients, and nostalgic flavor combinations—but lately I’ve been drawn to a stellar new breakfast menu. If you have nowhere to be for the rest of the day, I recommend beginning with the Stuffed French Toast. Two decadent slices of French toast are stuffed with strawberry mascarpone and ham, then dusted with powdered sugar—so good. There is an assortment of breakfast skillets and benedicts and liberal use of “marinaise,” which is Hollandaise mixed with touch of marinara. I love to pick up the Mozzarella Crepes, light, fluffy crepes filled with a fresh house mozzarella, arugula and diced onions, then drizzled with basil oil. Then walk down the street just past Iberia Bank and grab a cup of the best coffee in town from the Out and About mobile Perq coffee stand.
