Eyes watering, tongue smoking, forehead beading: if you get excited just thinking about these singular sensations, Bushwick Kitchen's hot, hot, burnin' hot condiments are right up your alley. Straight out of the scrappy Brooklyn neighborhood, the Bees Knees Spicy Honey and Weak Knees Gochujang Sriracha pack not-so-subtle chili pepper heat that lives up to their names. Infused with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley, the Catskill Mountains and the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, both the honey and the sriracha combine the best elements of spicy and sweet—the honey simple and rich; the flavors of classic sriracha melding with the fermented depth of gochujang chili paste. Drizzle the honey over a bubbling cheese pizza pie, buttermilk ice cream, grilled watermelon or add to a burbon cocktail. Glaze Atlantic salmon with the sriracha and throw on the grill or create your own homemade hot wings, Korean bibimbap or a blazing breakfast sandwich. Find these scalding sauces in the corner store within Perq Coffee Bar—called The Goods. Whichever spread you opt for, have lots of water at the ready.
Perq Coffee - The Goods, 1821 Hillview St., Sarasota, 941-955-8101.
