Kellogg & Kimsey Expands Into Texas

Todays News

A Sarasota construction firm announced the opening of a branch office in Dallas, Texas, as it continues its work for major corporations across the country. Kellogg & Kimsey officials suggest more expansion into other states could occur in the future.

“Opening this office is a large step in Kellogg & Kimsey, Inc.’s commitment to growth.” said Charles Kimsey, executive vice president. “Our company has earned an excellent reputation and longevity in the retail market with national retailers such as Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy and JC Penney over many years. We hope to implement these same partnerships with our extensive hospitality portfolio with clients such as Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and IHG as a mid-size go-to construction firm throughout the state of Texas.”

The firm’s first work in Texas came in 1997 with construction of a Barnes & Noble in College Station. Since then, the company has also been part of projects in San Antonio and Houston, among other Texas markets.

Kellogg & Kimsey had been in operation for 31 years and has worked in 36 states, with projects in a number of states around the Lone Star state, including Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Utah, as well as California, all warranting an office in Texas. In that time, the company has been involved in such major projects as the Hotel Indigo in Sarasota and the conference center expansion for the Hyatt Regency downtown.

Kellogg & Kimsey officials say growth in the hospitality field led them to open a first out-of-state permanent location. The demand for hotel space is high in Florida, Texas and in Georgia, where the company has five ongoing projects and has noted Atlanta as a growth market for the firm.

Right now, the Dallas office will be manned by one individual, with the support staff remaining in Sarasota, and company executives say the corporate headquarters for Kellogg and Kimsey will remain in Sarasota, as it has for decades.
