Sarasota Contemporary Dance Invites Supporters to 'Dance Your Part' at April 7 Fundraiser

Arts & Culture

Sarasota Contemporary Dance will hold a spring fundraiser on Sunday, April 7 at Waterworks Sarasota, 1005 Orange Avenue in Sarasota.  The event, titled “Dance Your Part,” will take place from 5:30 to approximately 8 pm. Individual tickets are $100; sponsors levels at $2,500, $1,000 and $500. A highlight of the evening will be a presentation of site-specific choreography created by the company’s artistic director, Leymis Bolaños Wilmott, in keeping with a 1920’s theme inspired by the original Sarasota Waterworks building, which dates back to 1926. There will also be live music in an informal, cocktail party atmosphere.  Nineteen-twenties-era clothing is optional. Due to space considerations, reservations are limited.

Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased online at sarasotacomtemporarydance.org/dance-your-part, or call 941-260-8485. Sarasota Contemporary Dance (SCD) offers a series of four performances at the Cook Theater in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.
