Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation Receives Two Grants from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to Strengthen its Preservation and Fundraising Initiatives

The Giving Coast

The Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation (SAHP) recently received two grants from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The first, a $20,000 grant issued from the Community Foundation’s Edward K. Roberts Emerging Needs Fund, the Two-Generation Approach Fund and the Affordable/Transitional Housing Fund, will support a SAHP initiative that offers low-cost loans to historic property owners in the Newtown district, enabling them to make renovations and improvements to their buildings. The second, a $10,000 grant, was also issued from the Community Foundation’s Edward K Roberts Emerging Needs Fund and will help the organization engage a fundraising consultant to expand access to funding sources.
